Inns of America (09/97 to 07/01)Milpitas and San Carlos, CAI began at Inns of America as General Manager of 124 rooms property in Milpitas. When labor issues arose in newly opened property in San Carlos I was transferred there to mediate and oversee its management. I provided leadership and direction in all phases of the operations including sales and marketing, front desk, reservations, housekeeping, engineering, accounting and human resources. I was responsible for creating teamwork amongst the employees with a strong focus an training and quality assurance. I was responsible for budgeting, forecasting and reviewed profit and loss statement. I assisted the director of sales in her marketing efforts. I also oversaw accounting and human resources. As a result I received the President’s award and was named “General Manager of the year” for the year 2000.
In the years prior to 1997 I was a Hotel Manager for Hilton Hotels, Best Western Hotels and Doral Ocean Beach Resort. I also sailed the seven seas as a Hotel Manager for Costa Cruises.
