Speech Language Pathologist - Inpatient - Part Time

Position Objective:
Evaluates patients in the acute care medical setting for Speech-Language Pathology services and provides therapeutic intervention according to professional and departmental standards.
Assesses the appropriateness and effectiveness of services provided based on the special needs of the individual patient and completes documentation according to the standards set by the Inpatient Rehabilitation Department.

Performs Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and treatments using a variety of appropriate treatment techniques and documents according to departmental policies and procedures.
Transports or observes medications as necessary during the usual course of this job within the institution; keeping with AAMC policy and procedure regarding medication security.
Meets departmental productivity and completes productivity logs in a timely manner.
Demonstrates the ability and required competencies to cross cover by evaluating and treating patients with a variety of diagnoses in various units.
Actively participates in interdisciplinary meetings, departmental in-service activities and/or evidence based journal article review; conducts in-services for AAMC-funded continuing education courses in a timely manner.
Exhibits qualities that are consistent with the organization's 7 core values.
Participates in departmental process improvement initiatives (huddle, metrics, and innovative ideas).
Provides technical supervision, direction, orientation and support to staff, students and volunteers.
Consults with and serves as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of Speech-Language Pathology scope of practice to identify patients who would benefit from Speech-Language Pathology services.
Functions as Supervisor in the absence of the Speech Language Pathology Supervisor, as designated.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Acute care or related experience preferred; however, new graduates will be considered depending on current departmental staffing.
Required License/Certifications:
Current license in Speech-Language Pathology by the Maryland Board of Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensers/Speech and Language Pathologists.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
