Basic qualifications:High School Diploma or Equivalent, Trade School Certifications Desired
Minimum 1 year cGMP experience
3-6 years experience with a biopharmaceutical company.
Production experience is a plus.
Experience performing electrical and mechanical activities in a Biotech and/or pharmaceutical facility.
Preferred qualifications:Stationary Engineers License State of Maryland (Preferred)
EPA Certified Universal Refrigerant License (Preferred)
State of Maryland Board of Waterworks & Waste Systems Operators License (Preferred)
Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.

GSK Biopharm in Rockville MD has an opening for a Facility Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, service calls, and in-house repairs throughout the facility. You will perform work in mechanical maintenance trades and perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. You will also make periodic or special inspections of equipment to ensure operability and to determine necessary repairs. You may work from rough sketches and drawings and also understand, and abide by, applicable cGMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
? Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building utility systems and bio-pharmaceutical production equipment.
? Must work effectively with outside contractors.
? Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
? Assists with the development and improvement of department procedures, documents, and operating and maintenance practices.
? Works and participates effectively in a team environment; within the department, with other departments, and with outside contractors.
? As required, will serve as the on call technician 24 hours a day for emergency situations that may arise.
? Requires supervision of outside contractors performing facility and equipment related services.
? Requires technician level operation of the M-ERP / SAP database.
? Other duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
