Basic qualifications:? Bachelor's degree in virology, molecular biology, cell biology or other vaccinology related discipline
? At least 5 years of experience in research and development, preferably including vaccine research in an industrial, academic or government laboratory settings
? Hands-on and in-depth understanding of different protein expression platforms, cell transfection and selection in transient and stable expression systems
? Basic experience with common bioanalytical assay execution (ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, PCR assays).
Preferred qualifications:? MSc degree.
? Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively collaborate within multiple project workstreams
? Ability to efficiently manage uncertainty, changes in priorities and timelines
? Hands-on cell clone isolation and single cell cloning, FACS analysis and sorting
? Molecular biology; plasmid and viral vector design and optimization
? Experience with viral vectors and virology background would be an advantage.
? Fluency in English
Details:We are seeking several motivated Vaccine Scientists for our new U.S. R&D Center in Rockville, Maryland. You will have the opportunity to be on the ground floor of a new organization and site, and you will be part of a new culture of some of the best scientific minds in vaccine research.
Job Purpose
? Key member of a team of virologists, cell and molecular biologists working on design and characterization of vaccine candidates and supporting platform technology development.
Key Responsibilities
? Applies detailed fundamental knowledge of own specialty area or scientific discipline into solving process development problems
? Solves complex problems through analytical thinking; identifies and prioritizes solutions using knowledge gained through formal education, experience and sound judgment
? Fully understands the rationale and hypotheses for experimental designs
? Works with minimal supervision in a matrix environment and effectively manages multiple project activities
? Rapidly acquires theoretical and operational knowledge of laboratory equipment in own discipline. Trains and supervises other team members as necessary

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
