Administrative Assistant
Asbury United Methodist Church, Annapolis, Maryland, wishes to employ a part-time administrative assistant to provide exceptional administrative support for the lead pastor, multiple certified lay ministers, and lay volunteers.
Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma, but prefer candidates with an earned associate's degree; at least three years' experience as an administrative assistant for senior level management; excellent command of spoken and written English (i.e., composition and punctuation, etc.); and strong organizational, planning and time management skills. MUST PROVIDE STRONG REFERENCES!
Must be personable, self-motivated, organized, energetic, comfortable at multi-tasking, and dependable; good at prioritizing projects; confidential in handling sensitive information (i.e., financial records, counseling situations); computer literate (MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher); and proficient in the use of standard office equipment (copy machine, etc.).
HOURS, ETC.
Standard work week: Tuesday thru Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with flex-time possible as needed; occasional weekend hours may be necessary to support special programs. Salary negotiable.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Open and close office; answer inquiries and greet visitors; order and maintain office supplies and equipment (i.e., copier, answering machine, computer, telephones, etc.); organize and maintain the master church calendar and the lead pastor's daily calendar; organize and maintain an accurate filing system; prepare new member information packets; keep accurate membership records (new members, baptisms, weddings, deaths, etc.); pickup and distribute mail and correspondence; screen and route incoming telephone calls; check all e-mails and respond as necessary; coordinate scheduling and logistics for funerals, weddings, baptisms and other special services; gather information, prepare, print, proof and disperse weekly announcements and bulletins for all worship services; manage key distribution; maintain logs on use of church vans; other duties as assigned.
