The selected candidate will apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other technical disciplines in providing support for ongoing technical programs. This will consist of inspecting, testing, adjusting, and certifying basic assemblies and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices; repairing malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry using hand and power tools; setting up standard test apparatus and conducting operational tests; installing basic equipment field changes; initiating requisitions and replenishing parts, equipment, and material for a project; issuing complete or partial kits to meet delivery requirements of ongoing contracts; performing other related duties as assigned. Should be willing to travel 20%25%20-30%25%20of the time to assist with shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events. Will exert frequent energy, such as climbing to go aloft for antenna maintenance and lifting/carrying heavy objects. May work extended hours or weekends to support installations and test events. Will work on-board ships to accomplish assignments. Will work occasionally in disagreeable environmental conditions. Assigned work shall include assisting technicians of all skill levels; performing technical integration, evaluation, and testing; working on projects involving Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA; related technical duties. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and onsite Government customers.
Required Skills and Education
Requirements:
High school diploma and at least four years related experience
Ability
to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Ability to read and
follow engineering drawings, change orders, work instructions, and test
procedures
Experience using computers, Windows OS, MS Word, and MS Excel
Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects
NEC 1572 or equivalent AIMS System Technician
Preferred Skills and Education
Preferences:
NEC 1571 or equivalent AN/UPX-29(V)
Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) - Maritime (OSHA 1915) training
Active security
clearance
Certified Solder Technician specializing in SMT, lead free and
through hole
Certified Quality Assurance Inspector
Cable fabrication
certification
Knowledge of CMMI, ISO, Lean Six Sigma, and/or best
practices
