Information Technology Specialist

Role and
Responsibilities:

As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of our organization's IT systems.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Provide technical support to end users, both remotely and in person, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networks, and peripheral devices.
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, identifying and implementing appropriate solutions.
Perform regular system maintenance tasks, such as backups, system updates, and security patches.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring data security and compliance with company policies.
Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues and implement system enhancements.
Conduct research to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology, making recommendations for system improvements and upgrades.
Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
Train users on basic hardware and software functionality, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to effectively utilize IT resources.
Responsible for assisting with deploying new applications, systems, and services including Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, printing, etc.
Work alongside other engineers on the IT Infrastructure team for project-based work as needed.
Education and Professional
Experience:
1-3 years full time IT work experience or equivalent Strong service oriented background including ability to multitask Experience with Microsoft Windows domain environment including Active Directory Familiarity and general knowledge of server virtualization and hosted infrastructure:
AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, VMware, clustering, high availability.
General knowledge of Microsoft 365 product suite Familiarity with automation/scripting:
PowerShell, PHP, C#, Bash Experience writing detailed technical documentation.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Broad familiarity with Networking Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
Track record of providing strong customer service to staff and stakeholders Experience working in Agile development workflows (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
General knowledge and ability to identify processes for improvement and suggest practical solutions General Attributes:
