The Coffee Equipment Technician will help maintain coffee equipment and provide on-site equipment training in cafes, restaurants, hotels, and other facilities in the greater Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
This position will be trained by and will report to the Technical Services Manager.
It requires passion for both coffee and doing good work, natural skill in working with your hands, and an ability to solve problems intuitively.
Previous technical experience is a requirement, and an ideal candidate should be able to apply that experience to coffee equipment.
This position is customer facing and is consequently a vital part of advancing the mission of Ceremony Coffee.
Essential Functions:
Studying with our Technical Services Manager to learn best practices for espresso and coffee equipment care.
Tasting and dialing in coffee at customer accounts, and troubleshooting brewing and cleaning practices Training customers on equipment and proper coffee preparation Helping to maintain a clean, presentable, and easily accessible workspace.
This includes company vehicles and caf spaces.
Assisting in creating and maintaining an organized and cohesive parts and equipment inventory and workspace Assessing and repairing home espresso equipment for customers brought in through our home repair program Performing regular preventative maintenance and service calls for customers, which may include emergency calls on nights and weekends Providing friendly, approachable customer service to the variety of accounts we work with, both wholesale and non-wholesale Providing maintenance support for Ceremony cafes and facilities Repairing, maintaining and retrofitting roasting equipment Occasionally assisting with production tasks Other duties as assigned Ability to commute with heavy tools or parts around the DMV region QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
General knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications Clear written and verbal communication skills Organizational and time management skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work alone and unsupervised with a high degree of productivity and professionalism in potentially stressful situations.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and professional skills Valid driverEUR(TM)s license and a clean driving record EDUCATION AND WORK
Experience:
A combination of education and work experience that can include the following:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent BachelorEUR(TM)s or Associates Degree desired, but not required 1 year experience in a technical position:
carpentry, electrical work, mechanical work, cable installation, etc.
Experience with tools, or in HVAC, mechanics, or electronics preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in the coffee industry, including as a barista Stable job history and excellent references.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
