25 an hour 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago The Community Coach is a Direct Support Professional who facilitates community-based activities and provides day-to-day support for The Arc Central Chesapeake Region's Day Services program within Anne Arundel County.
The Community Coach will work with groups of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
All activities are individualized and aligned to the Person-Centered Plan for each person we support.
Community Coaches typically work an average of 28 to 35 hrs.
per week.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Two years of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED.
Have a valid Maryland Driver's License with 2 or fewer points.
Have reliable transportation.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Essential Functions Identify community-based activities and opportunities for individualized groups of people supported with a focus on community participation, skill-building and personal growth.
Provide transportation support for people you will support, using an agency or personal vehicle.
Provide services outlined in the Person-Centered Plan for the person supported, ensuring goals are developed, implemented and progress benchmarks are being met.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 75 pounds in supporting people with activities of daily living.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to drive is a requirement of the position.
