Rockwell Collins ARINC's Global Network and IT Solution business unit Annapolis, MD is seeking a Principal Network Engineer. The candidate:
Will be able to work independently to analyze & understand complex network requirements in order to design and develop straightforward network solutions that support the airline industry, Civil Aviation Authorities (e.g. the U.S. FAA), and related businesses (hotels, car rental agencies, etc.).
Will occasionally work in support of the Deployment Team and the Tech Support Team in resolving operational problems and providing networking troubleshooting advice.
Will design, develop, and test new network devices, components, and network protocols, as well as assess network architectural changes.

Qualifications
Required
Experience:
Possess eight (8) or more years of experience with Cisco routers and switches.
Possess five (5) years of experience working in a large network environment.
Possess knowledge of firewall and VPN configurations.
Possess a strong networking background, understanding of network theory and possess exceptional troubleshooting skills.
Possess experience in LAN/WAN systems design, implementation, and troubleshooting of mission critical IT systems across multiple sites
Possess knowledge of configuration with Cisco IOS; Cisco routers; Cisco switches; and Cisco ASA's
Possess knowledge of various internetworking protocols such as TCP/IP; EIGRP; BGP; OSPF; SNMP; PPP; HSRP; DHCP; NAT; and MPLS
Possess knowledge of Access Control Lists; IPSec; VPNs; and network security technologies.
Education and Certifications:
Typically requires a Master's Degree in a technical area or equivalent. Management is accepting a Bachelor's Degree.
Desired
Experience:
Knowledge and experience with network management/analysis tools such as HP Network Node Manager (NNM); BlueCat DNS; InfoVista Vista Insight for Networks (VIN); NetScout nGenious Performance Manager, SysLog-NG, etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of Linux is desired.
Candidate has worked with MPLS Telco providers.
